Resumo

Oportunidade de pós-doutorado com Bolsa FAPESP no âmbito do Projeto Temático “Medidas para a redução das infecções primárias no manejo integrado do huanglongbing no cinturão citrícola de São Paulo: viabilidade técnica e econômica” (Processo FAPESP n. 2017/21460-0), sob a coordenação do Prof. Dr. Renato Beozzo Bassanezi.

O objetivo principal do estudo é avaliar a viabilidade técnica e econômica de medidas disponíveis ao citricultor e que podem ser integradas para a redução das infecções primárias da doença huanglongbing dos citros. Fora do pomar, serão avaliadas medidas aplicadas diretamente no controle da fonte primária de inóculo. Na faixa de borda do pomar, até os primeiros 200 m a partir da divisa da propriedade, região de maior concentração do psilídeo migrante portador da bactéria oriundo de áreas vizinhas, serão avaliadas medidas para impedir que a dispersão primária alcance o interior do pomar e prevenir a inoculação primária da bactéria pelo psilídeo, impedindo o acesso do vetor à planta ou sua alimentação na planta.

A bolsa terá duração de 12 meses, prorrogável por até 12 meses, a depender do desempenho do bolsista, o qual será avaliado anualmente de acordo com as normas da FAPESP. O candidato selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373.10 mensais. Está previsto ainda a Reserva Técnica equivalente a 15% do valor anual da bolsa que tem por objetivo atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa. Caso o bolsista de PD resida em domicílio diferente e precise se mudar para a cidade onde se localiza a instituição-sede da pesquisa, poderá ter direito a um auxílio instalação.

O candidato deverá ter concluído o doutoramento há menos de 7 (sete) anos. Os demais requisitos necessários para a candidatura exigidos pela FAPESP poderão ser consultados em http://www.fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.

Obrigações do candidato

- Dedicar-se exclusivamente ao projeto de pesquisa (exceto mediante autorização da FAPESP, nas condições previstas na Portaria PR n. 05/2012);

- Não receber bolsa de outra entidade, salário ou remuneração decorrente do exercício de atividades de qualquer natureza (exceto mediante autorização da FAPESP, nas condições previstas na Portaria PR n. 05/2012);

- Apresentar relatórios científicos e relatórios de aplicação dos recursos de reserva técnica dentro dos prazos previstos no Termo de Outorga (TO), acompanhados da documentação solicitada.

Atividades específicas para o candidato

O bolsista irá desenvolver atividades de implantação, condução e coordenação de experimentos de campo e análise de dados, avaliando práticas de manejo de citros como poda, adensamento de plantio e uso de porta-enxertos ananicantes com efeito sobre a disseminação da doença. As avaliações incluem fenologia, produção e qualidade de frutos de citros, além da sua relação ao progresso do HLB e à dispersão de seu vetor.

Portanto, é imprescindível que o candidato tenha os seguintes requisitos:

- Área de formação em nível de Pós-Graduação em Fitotecnia ou Produção Vegetal ou áreas afins, preferencialmente com ênfase em Citricultura/Fruticultura;

- Preferencialmente, conhecimento sobre o patossistema Huanglongbing-citros-psilídeo ou de outros associados aos citros envolvendo doenças disseminadas por vetores;

- Preferencialmente, conhecimento sobre fenologia de citros ou de culturas perenes;

- Conhecimento e habilidade prática em análise estatística experimental;

- Habilidade na confecção de gráficos, tabelas e relatórios;

- Habilidade em redação de artigos científicos.

Habilidades pessoais: espera-se que o candidato demonstre capacidade de trabalhar em equipe, ter independência e pró-atividade para desenvolver o trabalho, ser comunicativo e ter proficiência em inglês. Deve apresentar Carteira Nacional de Habilitação categoria B, pois o plano de trabalho implica em disponibilidade para viagens constantes a campo.

Summary

One post-doctoral opportunitie with FAPESP grant is available under the Thematic Project "Measures for the reduction of primary infections in the integrated management of Huanglongbing in Sao Paulo citrus belt: technical and economic feasibility" (FAPESP Process 2017/21460- 0), under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Renato Beozzo Bassanezi.

This project aims to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of available measures to the growers, which could be integrated in order to reduce these primary infections. Outside the orchard, measures applied directly to control the primary inoculum source will be evaluated. In the orchard edge, up to 200 m from the orchard boundary, the region with the highest concentration of bacteria carrier migrant psyllids from neighboring areas, other measures will be evaluated to bar the primary dispersion into the orchard; prevent the primary inoculation of bacteria by psyllid, preventing the vector access to the plant or its feeding on the plant.

The activities of Post-doc will take place at the Department of Research and Development of the Fund for Citrus Protection (Fundecitrus), Araraquara, Sao Paulo State, Brazil. under the supervision of Dr. Renato Beozzo Bassanezi, from Fundecitrus.

The fellowships will last for 12 months and may be extended for another 12 months, depending on the performance of the Post-doc, which will be evaluated annually in accordance with FAPESP regulations. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of BRL 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund (Technical reserve), equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity. If the selected candidate resides in a different address and needs to move to the city where the research institution is located, he may be entitled to an installation aid.

The candidates must have completed the PhD in less than 7 (seven) years and be conducting research activity. Other criteria for application required by FAPESP can be consulted at http://www.fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.

Obligations of the candidates

1. The fellowship requires full-time exclusive dedication to the research project.
2. The fellowship holder cannot have employment contract nor can he/she receive a fellowship from another entity or salary or remuneration arising from the exercise of any activity of any nature for the duration of the scholarship. He/she cannot be retired or be away without pay.
3. The fellowship holder must present research reports and reports related to the use of technical reserve within the deadlines set forth in the Term of Grant, accompanied by the requested documentation.

Important: failure to comply with these obligations described in http://www.fapesp.br/bolsas/pd implies in the cancellation of the grant and in the repayment of payments already made by FAPESP in updated amounts.

The candidate must be available to start postdoctoral studies once FAPESP Term of Grant has been signed.

Specific activities for the candidate:

The fellowship holder will be involved in two subprojects of the Research Project, evaluating the effect of citrus management practices such as pruning, density and direction of planting and use of dwarfing rootstocks on the disease progress.

In these subprojects, the fellowship holder will develop activities of implantation, conduction and coordination of field experiments and data analysis. Evaluations include plant phenology, production and fruit quality of citrus, as well as its relation with the dispersion of psyllids and the progress of the HLB.

Candidate requirements:

1. Postgraduate in Horticulture/Plant Production, and preferably in Citriculture/ Fruit crop;
2. Preferably knowledge about the pathosystem huanglongbing-citrus-psyllid or others vector-transmissible citrus diseases;

• Preferably knowledge in phenology of citrus or other perennial fruit crops;

1. Knowledge and practical skills in experimental statistical analysis;
2. Ability to make graphs, tables and reports;
3. Ability to write scientific papers.

Personal skills: have ability to work in teams, have independence and proactivity to develop work, be communicative and have proficiency in English. Must have driver’s license, because the work plan implies availability for constant trips to the field.

Selective process

The opportunities are open to candidates of any nationalities.

The selection will be made primarily based on:

• Evaluation of the candidates’ profile by the analysis of the documents sent (eliminatory stage); and
• By video conference interview with selected candidates, where the abilities in the issues will be verified and other aspects may be discussed (qualifying stage)
